Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

The new stream consists of three pathways:

TEER 0 to 3 pathway
TEER 4 to 5 pathway
Self-employed physician pathway

Applicants under the TEER pathways must have a permanent, full-time job offer from an eligible Ontario employer.

Applicant Requirements

These requirements apply if you are applying with a job offer under the Ontario Workforce Priority Stream.

To qualify for nomination, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Have an employer who has registered with the program and submitted an application for approval of your employment position.
Receive an Invitation to Apply and submit your application within the deadline.
Provide documents to support the scoring factors claimed in your Expression of Interest (EOI).
Meet the applicable stream requirements and provide the required supporting documents.

Requirement	TEER 0–3	TEER 4–5
Work Experience	You must meet one of the following: At least 6 months of consecutive, paid, full-time experience in the job-offer employment position within the last 12 months. OR at least 3 months of consecutive, paid, full-time experience in the job-offer employment position if you are a recent Ontario graduate (2 years diploma, Ontario College Graduate Certificate, Master’s, PhD. OR at least 2 years of cumulative, paid, full-time experience in the same NOC occupation within the last 5 years, subject to applicable NOC exceptions. OR hold the mandatory licence or authorization required by Ontario or federal law for the employment position.	At least 9 months of cumulative, paid, full-time work experience. The experience must be in the employment position the employer is seeking approval for and which is listed in the job offer. The experience must have been gained within the 2 years before the application date.
Valid Licence or Other Authorization	Required if the employment position is regulated under Ontario or federal law.	Required if the employment position is regulated under Ontario or federal law.
Language	Meet the applicable language requirement.	Meet the applicable language requirement.
Education	Meet the applicable education requirement.	Meet the applicable education requirement.
Legal Status in Canada	Maintain valid legal status in Canada, if applicable.	Maintain valid legal status in Canada, if applicable.
Intention to Live and Work in Ontario	Demonstrate your intention to live and work in Ontario.	Demonstrate your intention to live and work in Ontario.

Your employer’s application for approval of your employment position must also be approved before your application for an Ontario nomination can be approved.

Important: Requirements vary depending on the TEER category of the job offer. The TEER category is determined by the second digit of the occupation’s 5-digit NOC code.
